I know this might seem a little off subject, but I find it very intruging. The following is somehting my father forwarded me in an email.
ONE MEAN MULE!!!
I couldn’t believe this was true until I saw the pictures.
A couple from Montana were out riding on the range, he with his
rifle and she (fortunately) with her camera. Their dogs always
followed them, but on this occasion a Mountain Lion decided that he
wanted to stalk the dogs (you’ll see the dogs in the background
watching). Very, very bad decision…
The hunter got off the mule with his rifle and decided to shoot in
the air to scare away the lion, but before he could get off a shot
the lion charged in and decided he wanted a piece of those dogs.
With that, the mule took off and decided he wanted a piece of that
lion. That’s when all hell broke loose… for the lion.
As the lion approached the dogs the mule snatched him up by the
tail and started whirling him around. Banging its head on the
ground on every pass. Then he dropped it, stomped on it and held it
to the ground by the throat.
The mule then got down on his knees and bit the thing all over a couple of dozen times to make sure it was dead, than whipped it into the air again, walked back over to the couple (that were stunned in silence) and stood there ready to continue his ride… as if nothing had just happened.
Fortunately even though the hunter didn’t get off a shot, his wife
got off these 4…
Debbie B (last name left off to respect her privacy. Something I’m adamant about.)
And here are the pics:

I find it very interesting indeed. Most people thing of horses as docile, gentle creatures. And mules are half horse.
Although there is that term “mean old mule”.
I find it fascinationg that a mule obviously well trained and trail ready ( which means they don’t shy easily, aren’t skittish, and usually are a calm animal) would be the creature who would tear the mountain lion apart!
Hmmm…..
Perhaps women can be like that. Knowing their inner strength. And when neccessary tearing apart an opponent that most would consider far more dangerous than they are. Which would you think would win at first without knowing the story? A mountain lion or a tamed mule!
We are conditioned to believe the mountain lion is more dangerous. Perhaps it is like that in societies beliefs about women too. That we aren’t strong, or able to fight back.
Maybe the truth is more like the story of the mule. We may not look dangerous, we may be quite about our strength, but when it comes down to it, we can kick mountain lion butt!
It’s definaly something to think about.
