Why this site?  Because I was pissed off at all the women out there being vicitms and then whining about guns or violence because that’s what is “pollitically correct”!

How do they think they are going to stop the criminals who are out there attacking people and who don’t care what they use to do it or if it’s “legal.”

The whole thing just pissed me off.

I’ve been sexually abused. I’ve been physically attacked.

I’m still here, and I’m not whining. It was rough to recover, but I did it.

So I wanted to make the warrior woman something sexy to women so they would own their inner power and take charge of their lives and do what it takes to make things better. Or to prevent the crap in the first place!

I wanted them all to see that it’s perfectly okay to fight too when appropriate, and that it won’t make them undesireable, so….

There you go. My soap box! :) But I won’t apologize about it either. :)

And don’t worry, just cause victimhood bugs me doesn’t make me heartless. I still understand there are days where life sucks and you can’t just pretend it hasn’t happened.

What I was refering to was staying stuck there. The chronic victim stance. People who are whiney and don’t do anything to make things better.

So now that I’ve clarified, don’t think it’ll bug me if you tell me any problems or share any concerns. :)

I do anjoy assisting other people, and I need assistance too. I’m not perfect, and I have my own coaches and friends who I can lean on and learn from too.

So remember to let yourself feel your sadness, anger, etc. and then decide what you want to be different and create it! And don’t be afraid to get assistance to create it!!! :)

Self Protection Story…

I never even really thought much about having to defend myself until my neighbor John got mugged last April. The guys that mugged him held a knife against him while they beat the crap out of him and took his money.

It kind of freaked me out to have something like that happen to someone I actually knew. I talked to a cop friend of mine about it and a couple days later he gave me what looked like a 30 inch long fiberglass rod with a handle on it.

I eyed the thing suspiciously and asked him what the hell it was. He smiled and told me it was a WA-1, otherwise known as a “Whoop Ass stick”.

After he gave me a few lessons in how to use it, I put it in my truck next to the driver’s seat and forgot about it.

I didn’t think about it again until a couple months later when I pulled into a Thrifty’s parking lot one day. As I got out of my truck I heard footsteps behind me.

Just as I started to turn someone pushed me into the side of my vehicle, hard. I turned around to find myself face to face with this big guy with scraggly hair.

He started cussing at me and, from what I gathered, he was pissed off at me because I guess I took the open parking spot he was going to park in.

I didn’t realize I had done so and offered to move. He shoved me up against my truck again, slapped me in the face and told me he was going to kick my ass.

I got this sick feeling in my stomach and realized this guy wasn’t going to go away without totally ruining my day. I backed against my open truck door and glanced down at the WA-1 sitting on the floorboard along the driver’s seat.

The guy was still screaming at me and stepped forward, hitting me again in the side of the head.

I grabbed up the WA-1 and sidestepped the guy as he punched at me. I swung the stick across the front of his shins and then snapped the weapon back across his face like a backhanded tennis swing. The effect was immediate.

The guy stepped back a couple steps and grabbed his face with both hands. As he pulled his hands away, my heart jumped at the sight.

His face was literally a bloody mess. His top lip all the way up to his cheek was cut open clean to the bone.

Blood gushed down his chin. The guy started howling like a wounded animal. He didn’t even see me anymore. He turned and walked a few steps and then started limping heavily.

When the cops showed up the guy was curled up in a fetal position in the middle of the parking lot.

I wasn’t arrested, but in the following weeks I caught hell from the city attorney’s office. And, while they did take my WA-1 away from me, they didn’t consider it an illegal weapon.

I found out from my attorney that the guy who attacked me had to have 27 stitches to put his face back together and he suffered a stress fracture on his left shin where I struck him.

I have since bought a new WA-1 and it sits in place of the old one. I doubt if I’ll ever need it again, but then again, you never know.

This story I found on the web somewhere… If you are the owner of this story and do not wish us to use it please contact us.

If you are a huge Charlize Theron fan, you will most likely already know this story…

It is the story of how her mother protected her cub. And might be the reason Charlize is with us today challenging us out of our compacency. :)
Charlize says, “Reading about it is painful because it comes across so nonchalant.”

Well, I won’t be nonchalant about it.

The details are:

Charlize’s father and mother had been divorced for a while. Then Charles, an abusive alcoholic, forced his way into the family home one holiday season in 1991 wielding a gun.

Gerta, her mother was frightened for their lives and shot him three times in self-defence. He died, she was arrested and then released uncharged.

Keep in mind that this is in South Africa (still part of England), and if it is the same as England there are no guns allowed there. So it was an even more serious choice for her to use it.

That is a difficult desicion to make. Obviously her mother felt very frightened for herself and daughter and determined to do something about it, or she would not have made that choice.

And just as obviously, the police decided she had good reason to use it, or they would not have released her uncharged.

It takes a strength to make a desicion like that. And it is one with great responsibility.

And yet it is a valid, okay option when in a life or death situation.

One of the things this site addresses is self defence. That is part of the warrior woman model.

To fight back when need be, not be a passive victim.

Regarding her mother and her self. It is said that they have a good, close relationship. And I can see why.

Any child would respect and love a parent who did what it took to keep them safe.

ID Theft and stolen wallet —tips on minimizing damage.

Unfortunatly this is the fastest growing type of crime. So to not address this aspect of protecting yourself would be folly.

A corporate attorney sent the following out to the employees in his company.

1. The next time you order checks have only your initials (instead of first name) and last name put on them. If someone takes your checkbook, they will not know if you sign your checks with just your initials or your first name, but your bank will know how you sign your checks.

2. Do not sign the back of your credit cards. Instead, put “PHOTO ID REQUIRED.”

3. When you are writing checks to pay on your credit card accounts, DO NOT put the complete account number on the “For” line. Instead, just put the last four numbers (or none at all). Your statement has it enclosed. The credit card company knows the rest of the number, and anyone who might be handling your check as it passes through all the check-processing channels will not have access to it.

4. You can put your work phone # on your checks instead of your home phone. If you have a PO Box, use that instead of your home address. If you do not have a PO Box, use your work address. Never have your SS# printed on your checks.

5. Place the contents of your wallet on a photocopy machine. Do both sides of each license, credit card, etc. You will know what you had in your wallet and all of the account numbers and phone numbers to call and cancel. Keep the photocopy in a safe place.

Also carry a photocopy of your passport when traveling either here or abroad. We have all heard horror stories about fraud that is committed on us in stealing a name, address, Social Security number, credit cards.

6. When you check out of a hotel that uses cards for keys (and they all seem to do that now), do not turn the “keys” in. Take them with you and destroy them. Those little cards have on them all of them information you gave the hotel, including address and credit card numbers and expiration dates. Someone with a card reader, or employee of the hotel, can access all that information with no problem whatsoever.

“Unfortunately, as an attorney, I have first hand knowledge because my wallet was stolen last month. Within a week, the thieves ordered an expensive monthly cell phone package, applied for a VISA credit card, had a credit line approved to buy a Gateway computer and received a PIN number from DMV to change my driving record information online.”

Here is some critical information to limit the damage in case this happens to you or someone you know:

1. We have been told we should cancel our credit cards immediately. The key is having the toll free numbers and your card numbers handy so you know whom to call. Keep those where you can find them.

2. File a police report immediately in the jurisdiction where your credit cards, etc., were stolen. This proves to credit providers you were diligent, and this is a first step toward an investigation (if there ever is one). However, here is what is perhaps most important of all (I never even thought to do this.)

3. Call the three national credit reporting organizations immediately to place a fraud alert on your name and Social Security number. I had never heard of doing that until advised by a bank that called to tell me an application for credit was made over the Internet in my name.

The alert means any company that checks your credit knows your information was stolen, and they have to contact you by phone to authorize new credit. By the time I was advised to do this, almost two weeks after the theft, all the damage had been done.

There are records of all the credit checks initiated by the thieves’ purchases, none of which I knew about before placing the alert. Since then, no additional damage has been done, and the thieves threw my wallet away this weekend (someone turned it in). It seems to have stopped them dead in their tracks.

Now, here are the numbers you always need to contact about your wallet and contents being stolen:
1.) Equifax: 1-800-525-6285

2.) Experian (formerly TRW): 1-888-397-3742

3.) TransUnion: 1-800-680-7289

4.) Social Security Administration (fraud line): 1-800-269-0271

Remember the only way this will help you is if you: “Just Do It!

If you would like to know about a service (I, Eldra, get nothing finacial in offering this.) that will assist you in limiting ID theft, AND assist you in recovery if it is stolen (I know of no other company that offers that second part.) Call the following representatives:

Self-Defense By Rosa Smith

As part of my training I have had the opportunity to teach and help teach workshops for youth groups, young women groups and young adult groups.

At each workshop we always teach that it is best if you can avoid a dangerous situation altogether – be aware of your surroundings, don’t go out jogging at night, if you see something suspicious turn around and run the other way.  Avoiding a fight is the best way to stay safe.

Most attackers prey on women who look like easy victims – those who walk with their heads-down, who look like they won’t fight back.

Men who attack women are cowards.  Most of the time if you scream, make a scene, or just fight back you will have a much better chance of coming away from a dangerous encounter unharmed.

Don’t become a victim by lying down and accepting what is happening to you.

In society today we are taught how to become victims — how to allow things to happen to us instead of taking charge of our own lives and making what we can out of what we have.

I cannot change the fact that there are men out there who need to feel powerful by attacking women, but I can be prepared to defend myself against them.  I can take, and have taken, the steps necessary to fight and survive an attack.

A few places that are the best to attack on a person are the eyes and knees –  if you take an eye your attacker cannot see you – if you take out a knee your attacker cannot come after you.

I know the favorite place of many women to hit is a mans groin, but when a man has high levels of adrenaline, or even is on drugs, kicking the groin region will not always stop an attack – in fact, it might just make your attacker more angry.

As a woman I also have the added advantage of being able to ambush an attacker with the skills I have learned – most people do not expect a woman to be able to fight and win an attack from a bigger, stronger man.

If you are going to fight, make sure it is something you are willing to kill or die for – each person will have their own ideas about what is worth laying down your life for, but a few of mine are family, virtue and freedom.

Being a Woman who knows how to fight:
by Rosa Smith
(c)www.beautifulwarriorwomen.com

Being a woman who knows how to fight is a wonderful thing; even if you are the only one who knows you can do it.

Six years ago I started learning Kung Fu.  I first started training because a friend invited me to come see what it was all about.

He made it sound exciting and fun – and like hard work.

I was all for it, I had grown up more of a tomboy and was aggressive in general and was prideful enough to think that I wasn’t afraid of  ‘a little’ hard work.

I had been looking for a way to get into better shape, but dreaded walking around in circles at a track or around the neighborhood – it was boring.

My first day of class I had a blast – since I wasn’t afraid to be hit or take a hit, I was able to learn quite a lot that day.

Throughout the last six years I have learned that truly being committed to learning martial art is not ‘a little’ hard work – it is A LOT of hard work and some days it feels like you won’t make it.

As the years have continued, I have been able to learn more than just fighting – although that is a huge part of any martial art.

I have gained better health because of my training, but that has become more of a side benefit rather than the reason why I still attend my classes.

Training in a martial art has tested my physical, mental, and emotional state.  Every time I go to class I learn something new, even if I am working on the same movement I have done for three weeks or going over a form I learned the first month I was in class.

It has opened my mind to a whole different way of thinking and allowed me to be creative in all aspects of my life and see that there is never an end to learning because each time you re-visit something you ‘know’ there can be a different facet of it you have missed before.

I have been able to apply the principles I have learned in Kung Fu to my job and my family relationships.

As I continue to grow in knowledge and understanding of the art I am learning I am filled more and more with a sense of empowerment.

It is not always like that – there are doubts that still try to crowd into my mind saying that I am not good enough and that I wouldn’t be able to win in a fight against someone bigger than me, but I have to have faith that my hard work and training in class will be there for me in if I am ever put in a dangerous situation.
