A conversation with MTV star Aimee Allen! :) Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008
Aimee Allen, a famous MTV singer was asking this question:
I mean, when did violence ever solve anything? Could someone please give me an example? For real, i’d really I’d like to know.
This was what I told her…
There are actually a lot of examples of violence solving situations.
I’ll get to those in a sec.
The thing that most people don’t realize is that violence itself is only a tool, and neutral. Just like money, and power, and influence.
It’s how you use it that determines it’s effect.
Now, I’m not a promoter of war or violence. There are usually other options that you can use long before anything gets to that point, and they ought to be used.
But sometimes violence is used for good. Someone always gets hurt though, so it is an emergency measure for well socialized people.
There are thousands of examples of women using violence to protect their lives from rapists and other criminals.
Violence created our Free country. Violence stopped Hitlers reign of Terror.
There are too many people who abuse the power of violence, just as there are too many who abuse sex, the power of words, food, drugs, and other things.
All of these are neutral in and of themselves. It is how they are used that constitutes the end result.

Sure!
Thanks. I think you are a warrior woman! You totally rocked my world when I saw your Ron Paul revolution video. [Elena is a “flaming” independent.

I suddenly didn’t feel like I was alone against this huge old government B.S. It was a wonderful thing.
I’m sure I’m not the only one, and that’s why that song has gotten so much attention. It brings us together in a way, because someone with a hip and happening edge in the market was willing to stand up and say who she supported.
It’s amazing to me how many people are afraid to do that.
I’m sure that’s one of the tactics to keep us “peasants” from revolting.
But that’s all changing, which I love.
Do you know if Ron Paul is planning to run in the next election? I hope he does. With the momentum he’s got now, he’d be very likely to make it into office next time around.
That would be cool.
…any time you want to chat, just let me know.
And if your ever in Vegas hollar at me, and we can hang out.

This is really true and Elena puts it so clearly. I hope it helps people who are confused about when violence is appropriate or not.
Think through situations for yourself (because if you wait till you are in danger you won’t have time to think about it), and guage it.
Decide what level of violence you are willing to use to protect yourself, your child, your spouse, your friend, your neighbor.
Also arm yourself with facts about laws and criminal situations, so that you can make a better decision.
For example 90% of rapists end up back in prison for commiting the same crime. It’s called recidivism.
So if you end up killing a rapist that’s attacking you… you will not only be saving yourself from harm, but many, many other women as well! Is it worth living with?
Only you can decide. And that is why it is important to come to decision you feel right about.
Take care everyone, Eldra McCracken
