Have you ever heard of Tim Larkin? If you have you know he is taking the Self Defense industry by storm with the most important information taught in the past 20 years most likely.

This man has turned self protection into a science. Literally. He takes the facts and the principals and turns it into information you can learn quickly.

We made an appointment to get together and chat, but our appointment was cancelled, because he was busy training Government people the day before, and he got stuck there! He regularly traines military, secret agents and the like.

If you could only ever get ONE self defense program EVER… This one is the only one I would put my whole heart and soul behind.

I have researched many self defense programs, martial arts styles, and weapons based systems.

And though they are usefull, there was always some VERY important aspect missing. They only ever give part of the equation.

With Tim’s system he takes away the mystery of violence. And when you learn these techniques you will feel a sudden sense of ease.

I began to find that feeling after learning some Brazilian Jiu Jitsu from one of the Gracie brothers, but it became more complete after I learned Tim’s information.

The feeling was that I suddenly didn’t have to put on a show of bravery. I didn’t feel the need to look or act tough or intimidating.

I was relaxed in a whole new way — that had NEVER been mine before.

I felt calm, relaxed, self assured.

I wasn’t afraid of a strangers footsteps behind me any longer. Or walking alone in the dark.

I also felt peaceful and willing to let the other person assert themselves if they felt the need (as long as they aren’t hurting me) without desiring retaliation or feeling stepped on.

It is a powerful feeling. And it is a large part of why I run this site.

I feel that it is every persons right to feel that way!

Especially women, who unfortunatly feel fearful more than men do.

So if you want to feel those amazing feelings for yourself, then learn what Tim has to teach you.

So I was re-watching the orgional Star Wars Trilogy the other day.

(By the way, they are the best out of all of them in my opinion! You actually got to know the characters really well.)

And I was watching the end where Luke is Battling the Emporer and Darth Vader.

I was rather shocked and dismayed at how confusing the philosophy was in it.

It just reminded me once again that you can’t accurately learn the truth about violence among other things from the telly or movies.

There was some accuracy, but then mixed messages were presented.

So the Emporer is encouraging Luke to give in to his rage because that will turn him to the dark side.  Well, this is true.

Acting from a place of rage will only bring pain, saddness, suffering, and shame.

Even though no one would blame him for killing the evil old fart, and it would save thousands  — if not millions of lives…. He would have lost personally because he would have lost a vital part of what made him a good man.

But when he is fighting Vader and Princess Leah’s identity is revealed and she is put in greater danger by this; Luke wants to protect his sister from the powers of these evil men.

This is where the confusion starts.

Luke was acting from a place that was unselfish and full of love. He wanted his sister to be safe, and that is ABSOLUTELY a motive coming from a very powerfully GOOD place. Yet the Emporer is droning on about how it will turn him to the dark.

Then we see Lord Vader’s change of heart, and his realization that he too wants to protect someone that represents love to him.

So he actually follows through and DOES kill the evil Emporer. This was Vader’s step into the light. Into goodness, wholeness and forgiveness.

This is where he chooses to stop something horrible from happening and the only way to do that was to bring the Emporer to death.

This saves hundreds of thousands of lives, plus the life of his own son.

Though he himself put many to death and lead a life bringing horror to others, by this act he wishes to create a recompense.

So my point is that though there was some parts of that scene that were accurate, it is VERY important to realize that when Luke is pushing to kill Vader in order to protect his sister that he is actually doing something that qualifies as good.

I’m sure many Star Wars fans will be upset at the criticism of the scene, but I feel that it’s important to bring up and make obvious.

They were started by a woman who was a warrior woman in her own way, a visionary pushing the boundaries of societies limits for women for the benefit of future girls.

These are organizations which promote leadership, service, tolerance of different cultures, and most of all adventures for the girls!

Did you know that when you buy Girl Scout cookies you are actually paying for the girls to go to camps, and do various other activities like learning about government, learn to ride horses, or about how skipper ships work, meet other girls and councilors from all over the world, and the like?

It does! It allows girls who’s parents don’t have the money to pay for their girls to have these cool kind of adventures to recieve these amazing and life changing experiences!

(and now it’s even harder for girls to sell them because of safety precautions the councils have had to make to keep the girls safe — so when you see these girls, support them buy buying lots! besides they taste fab and freeze perfect for down the road.

If you want your girl to have fun adventures, meet new people, and be safe doing so, I would definatly reccomend the Girl Scouts.

I myself was a Girl Scout for over 12 years, and loved every minute of it, even when I was teased in Junior high (but Junior High was hellish for me anyway — and Girl Scouts was far more enjoyable, so…

Support the Girl Scouts and Girl Guides near you. You just may be part of the life of the future woman president!

Hitler.

Did you know that Hitler was voted into office? So be careful who you vote for.

And I’m not for gun bans because Hitler did that and was part of how he kept his grip on Germany even though many saw what he really was and wanted to stop him.

He said this when he put gun bans in effect there,”This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be sager, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future!” — Adolf Hitler 1935

Hopefully we won’t. Oh, and just for the record, his own country didn’t.

They do allow guns in Germany today. Do you think they are nervous about any evil dictators taking over?

If you are a huge Charlize Theron fan, you will most likely already know this story…

It is the story of how her mother protected her cub. And might be the reason Charlize is with us today challenging us out of our compacency.
Charlize says, “Reading about it is painful because it comes across so nonchalant.”

Well, I won’t be nonchalant about it.

The details are:

Charlize’s father and mother had been divorced for a while. Then Charles, an abusive alcoholic, forced his way into the family home one holiday season in 1991 wielding a gun.

Gerta, her mother was frightened for their lives and shot him three times in self-defence. He died, she was arrested and then released uncharged.  

Keep in mind that this is in South Africa (still part of England), and if it is the same as England there are no guns allowed there. So it was an even more serious choice for her to use it.

That is a difficult desicion to make. Obviously her mother felt very frightened for herself and daughter and determined to do something about it, or she would not have made that choice.

And just as obviously, the police decided she had good reason to use it, or they would not have released her uncharged.

It takes a strength to make a desicion like that. And it is one with great responsibility.

And yet it is a valid, okay option when in a life or death situation.

One of the things this site addresses is self defence. That is part of the warrior woman model.

To fight back when need be, not be a passive victim.

Regarding her mother and her self. It is said that they have a good, close relationship. And I can see why.

Any child would respect and love a parent who did what it took to keep them safe.
